The purpose of the Chihuahua Club of Canada is to encourage and promote the responsible breeding of purebred Chihuahuas and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection.

To urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by The Canadian Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which the Chihuahua shall be judged.   To conduct sanction matches, licensed specialty shows obedience trials, exhibition and boosters under the rules of the Canadian Kennel Club.   To do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition or participation at dog shows, obedience trials, exhibitions, and educating members as well as the general public in the benefit of purebred dogs.

The Chihuahua Club of Canada offers a rescue and referral service for the Chihuahuas in both coat varieties.  We publish a newsletter twice a year which contains not only relevant national and regional Club information, members activities,  reports from international breed members and canine medical updates.
